A two-session multi-media workshop for grades 3 and 4 designed to promote empathy, social-skills building and assertiveness skills.
In 2001, a formal evaluation of Steer Clear of Bullies was conducted in conjunction with Dr. Eva Feindler and the psychology department at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. 389 students from five elementary schools participated. The results showed that students had significant decreases in approval of retaliatory aggression, in general approval of aggression and in anger from pre- to post-assessment. Concurrently, students showed increases in pro-social behaviors, school adjustment and peer-preferred behavior.
