Dignity Act Coordinator Training for School Administrators and Pupil Personnel

Email for more information.

The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) goes into effect July 1, 2012. All school districts in New York State will need to develop procedures to create an environment free of bullying, harassment and discrimination in order to comply with the new law. Summer is an ideal time to review and finalize your Dignity Act policies and train your Dignity Act Coordinators for the 2012-2013 school year.

CAPS will be offering Dignity Act Coordinator Training in our offices in Roslyn on Thursday, June 28; Wednesday, July 25; and Wednesday, August 22. Each program will run from 8:30am-12noon. This half-day training program will include an in-depth review of:

  • all areas of regulation to be in compliance with the Dignity Act
  • the roles and responsibilities required of the Dignity Act Coordinator (DAC) to include human relations and awareness of issues of dignity, tolerance and respect
  • best practices for preventing, intervening and responding to incidents of  bullying, harassment and discrimination

This professional development program will be offered in small groups. Each participant will receive training materials and a certificate of completion. The cost is $75/pp. Space is limited. RSVP is required. Please complete the attached registration form and return to CAPS.
